CW recently designed and delivered a new mobile friendly members only Employee Hub to improve company culture and reduce staff attrition for a national B2B services company, with 400 employees working remotely and at each regional office.
 
Staff logged on each day either via their desktop or mobile phone to view the company's operational directory which included

 
  • Portrait photo visual directory of each member of staff with their names, job title, department, location, email address, direct line number and mobile number
  • Office directory with team, postcodes and areas covered maps
  • ​Monthly updated organisation charts
  • Search bar to search by postcode/employee name/department
  • Alphabetical phone list
  • ​Navigate to each office for team members who were visiting the other offices
     
From an operational systems perspective, the above proved to be a huge benefit to the client company in streamlining operations and explaining the organisational structure to new recruits.

The hub also included
  • News section that reported promotions, fundraising, competitions, celebrations, retirements etc
  • Senior staff interviews to keep staff informed of upcoming organisational changes and external editorials that were due to appear in trade magazines
  • Reward and recognition updates, including a peer nominated recognition award for staff who had gone above and beyond
  • HR, training and benefits pages
  • IT help pages & forms for new staff starters and leavers
  • Fleet drivers guide - with instructions of what to do in a emergency and essential phone number
  • Group forums so members could chat with other members and HR could post training opportunities and benefit updates
  • File Share - to enable engineers out on site to access unlimited file size product instruction manuals
  • Upcoming events - keeping those who had expressed an interest in the event up to date with any changes
  • QHSE pages and links to audits and processes for authorised personnel​

Full consultation with all departments, finding out what they want from an Employee Hub.  CW then puts together an extensive plan to discuss with management before constructing the platform and training staff to maintain it.
